Journal Club: Moving Differential Diagnosis-Related Clinical Research Into Practice

This innovative continuing education program is designed to help physical therapists implement evidence into practice.  Current clinical research in physical therapy will be reviewed in detail and used as a model to translate new knowledge into clinician behavior change. The emphasis will be on research focused on differential diagnosis for physical therapists. The program is divided into five separate sessions and includes ongoing supported clinical implementation of course information. Participants will learn and apply concepts related to differential diagnosis, and strategies to gather and analyze knowledge relevant to clinical practice needs. The course will include specific recommendations for translation of this knowledge into daily clinical practice. The first course session will focus on key terms and concepts related to differential diagnosis for physical therapists. All course sessions will be interactive and include case-based discussions on successes and challenges related to knowledge-to-action. In order to enhance and support learning, participants will be required to complete readings and brief assignments prior to each session.
