Continuing Education That Matters
This course will support physical therapists in implementing evidence and content from the Pediatric Spinal Cord Injury Chapter (24) of Campbell’s Physical Therapy for Children, 6th edition. The goal is to support acquisition of new knowledge and clinical practice change that optimizes the physical therapy services for children who have sustained a spinal cord injury, and their families. The course is divided into three separate virtual/on-line sessions. The first 2-hour session is asynchronous and focused on general background and foreground information about Pediatric Spinal Cord Injury. All participants are required to complete this session and the knowledge assessment quiz. The two subsequent 1-hour synchronous, online sessions are optional and will focus on case-based discussion regarding tests and measures and intervention for children with this diagnosis. These two sessions will be interactive and include video to emphasize successes and challenges related to knowledge-to-action. The dates and times for the final two sessions will be determined once a cohort of participants (6-10 individuals) has registered for this option.
